RANGPUR, Mar 7, 2025 (BSS) - Northern Lights, a local voluntary organization, today gifted bicycles to eight children and teenagers for offering five-time prayers daily with the congregation for 40 consecutive days here in the city.
Northern Lights organized the exceptional programme to encourage children and teenagers offering prayers in congregation.
After Jumu'ah prayers, Yasir Arafat Asif , chairman of Northern Lights handed over the bicycles to the children and teenagers at the city's Ershad Nagar Jame Mosque.
At the event, organization's Vice-chairman Rozaf Kabir, Organizing Secretary Shoaib Ahmed Mitu, Mosque Affairs President Abdul Gani, General Secretary and local Muslims were present.
Ninety-eight children and teenagers participated in this competition promising to offer five-time prayers regularly at mosque.
In the end, eight of the participants became successful in offering 5-time prayers with the congregation for 40 consecutive days at the mosque.
Ayajit Hossain, a third-grade student who received the bicycle gift, said, "I participated in the competition with trust in Allah. I have offered 5-time prayers in the congregation, Alhamdulillah. I am very happy that I have been gifted a bicycle.''
Seventh grade student Badhan Hossain said, "By the grace of Almighty, I have offered 5-time prayers in congregation for 40 days continuously. I will always try to offer prayers in congregation. This is not just a gift for me, it means a lot to me."
Chairman Yasir said, the programme will continue to encourage prayers in congregation.
