DINAJPUR, March 8, 2025 (BSS) – A man died and two others were
injured in a collision between a truck and their motorcycle in Birganj upazila
of the district here today.

The deceased was Ajhar Ali, 62, a cow trader and hailed from Gorfatu
village of Shotogram union under the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Birganj police station Abdul Gafur confirmed
the incident this noon.

Quoting eyewitnesses, he said the accident took place at Prem bazaar on
Birganj-Kaharol road at 1:30pm. The three people were going to Kaharol
mart to buy cow from Birganj via motorcycle. At that time a truck from
opposite direction collided head-on with the motorcycle on Birganj-
Kaharol road. Ajhar died on the spot.

The two other passengers of the motorcycle were critically injured. Local
people rescued and send them to Dinajpur Medical College for treatment.

OC Abdul Gafur said police recovered the body from the spot. The body
will be handed over to the family members after completing legal
procedures.

Police seized the truck from the spot, while the driver and the helper
managed to flee away.
