SHERPUR, March 9, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 15 people including women and
children were injured after being bitten by a mad dog at four villages in
Sribardi upazila of the district last night.
 
The incident took place at Bakshabaid, Ijarapara, Daherpar, Munshipara of the
upazila.
 
The injured are currently being treated at Sribardi Upazila Health Complex
and Sherpur Sadar Hospital.
 
According to locals, a mad dog suddenly started biting people at Bakshabaid
village. After that, the dog moved towards the other villages. At that time,
around 15 people including men, women and children were bitten and injured.
 
Later, locals rescued the injured and took them to Sribardi Upazila Health
Complex and Sherpur Sadar Hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the locals beat the dog to death at night after the incident.
 
Moniruzzaman, deputy assistant community medical officer of Sribardi Upazila
Health Complex, said all the wounded were given government-supplied vaccines
and first aid after arriving at the hospital.
