MANIKGANJ, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - The government has allocated 858.7 metric tons of rice under the Vulnerable Group Feeding (V G F) program for 85,862 poor and distressed families in seven upazilas and two municipalities of the district to celebrate the upcoming the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.

Of the total families, 14,628 in Sadar upazila, 16,285 in Singair upazila, 14,582 in Daulatpur upazila, 8,286 in Saturia upazila, 9,956 in Shibalaya upazila, 7,468 in Harirampur upazila and 6,963 families in Ghior upazila and 4,621 families in Manikganj municipality and 3,081 families in Singair municipality will get the rice under the programme for celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr. 
 
District Relief and Rehabilitation Office sources said that each of the families will get 10 kilogram of rice.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md. Lutfor Rahman said that steps are being taken to complete the distribution to the card holder families before the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr to assist them in celebrating the festival.
