KHULNA, Mar 11, 2025 (BSS)- Over 20.17 lakh children aged between six months to 59 months will be administered Vitamin-A plus capsule in 10 districts of the Khulna division as the National Vitamin A plus Campaign begins on March 15.
The information was revealed in a divisional level inception and planning meeting held at the auditorium of school health clinic today.
Chaired by Director of Health of Khulna division Dr Md Monjurul Murshid the meeting was addressed, among others, by Dr Mohsin Ali Farazi, director of Khulna Medical College (KMC), Bikash Kumar Das, director of the department of family planning, Dr Mujibur Rahman, deputy director of the department of health of Khulna division, Md Kouser Hossain, chief of Khulna UNICEF, ASM Kabir, deputy chief information officer of Khulna PID, Dr Sharif Shammiul Islam, chief health officer of KCC, spoke.
S M Shahriar, assistant director of the department of health in Khulna division, presented the key note paper.
Dr Md Monjurul Murshid said special attention should be given to ensure that no child is left out of this campaign. Therefore, parents also need to be more aware.
Around 17,81,637 babies of six to eleven months age group and 2,35,514 babies of 12 to 59 months ago group will be administered with one dose blue and red colours of vitamin A plus capsule respectively, he said.
Civil Surgeons of 10 districts of Khulna division, deputy director of the department of Khulna family planning and government officials attended the meeting.
