RAJSHAHI, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a participatory meeting here today unanimously stressed the need for making all the public services transparent and accountable for welfare of the service-recipients.
Simultaneously, ensuring good governance in service deliveries in both public and private sectors can be the crucial means of building a disparity-free, happy and prosperous Bangladesh.
Government officials and others concerned came up with the observations while addressing a stakeholders meeting to ensure good governance at the office conference hall of Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner.
With commissioner of Rajshahi division Khandaker Azim Ahmed in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by additional commissioners Tarafder Muhammad Akter Jamil and Habibur Rahman and chief executive officer of Rajshahi Development Authority Abu Hayat Rahmat Ullah.
In his remarks, Commissioner Azim Ahmed said good behaviour, honesty, timeliness, discipline, transparency and accountability in all the service delivery points are the prime needs of ensuring good governance.
He also said forging social movements as well as resistance against corruption in the public services can be the crucial means of establishing disparity-free atmospheres everywhere in the society.
Spontaneous participation of the community and the young generation as a whole towards the anti-corruption campaign has also become indispensable for building mass-opinion against corruption.
Around 30 persons consisting of government officials, development activists, business leaders, valiant freedom fighters, members of civil society and journalists joined the meeting sharing views on how they supplement the process of establishing good governance.
