Preparatory meeting over Eid-ul-Fitr celebration held in Khulna

KHULNA, March 17, 2025 (BSS) – A preparatory meeting was held today at the conference room of the Khulna Deputy Commissioner’s office to ensure a festive and smooth celebration of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr in the district.

The meeting decided that the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in Khulna will be held at 8 am at the Circuit House ground, and in addition, Eid congregations will also be held at Khulna Town Jame Mosque at 9 am and 10am, respectively.

In case of inclement weather, the main congregation will be shifted to Khulna Town Jame Mosque at 8:00 am, while Eid prayers will also be held at Khulna District Model Mosque and Collectorate Jame Mosque at 8:30 am.

Moreover, separate Eid congregations will be organized in each ward of the city under the supervision of the Khulna City Corporation (KCC).

It also decided that the national flags of proper color and size will be hoisted on all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private buildings on the Eid Day.

Important locations and road intersections in the city will be decorated with national flags and banners inscribed with ‘Eid Mubarak.’

Law enforcement agencies will enhance activities to ensure the safe journey of home-bound people.

Special foods will be served in all government hospitals, orphanages, government children's homes, prisons, vagrant welfare centers, and shelters.

The deputy commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam said that, like last year, this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated with joy and grandeur and all preparations are in place.

He emphasized that Eid is a religious festival, so everyone should maintain religious solemnity. He urged parents to ensure that children refrain from setting off fireworks and firecrackers at the night before Eid.

Additional deputy commissioner (General) Bithan Kumar Mondal, additional superintendent of Police (DSB) Sheikh Imran, additional deputy commissioner (Land Acquisition) Nurul Hai Mohammad Anas, officials from various government departments, and mosque imams were present.
