RAJSHAHI, March 22, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a discussion here today unequivocally called for ensuring health and professional safety to the female police for their betterment.
Policing is crucial for maintaining peace, stability and security in a society. But, with the ever-changing security challenges of the present society, it is essential to ensure a community approach to policing, with a focus on inclusivity and gender sensitivity.
Experts and police officials came up with the observation while addressing a discussion related to health and professional risks of women police.
The Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) organized the discussion for women police at its police line drill shed to mark the International Women's Day.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Farzana Islam and Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mahbuba Khatun addressed the meeting as chief and special guests respectively with Commandant of In-service Training Centre Kamrunnahar in the chair.
RMP Additional Deputy Commissioners Shamima Nasrin and Sabina Yeasmin also spoke.
SP Farzana Islam talked about the importance of health improvement and professional safety for women police. She said that "If we can create a healthy working atmosphere for women police they will be able to discharge their duties with more competence and proficiency."
