NAOGAON, March 22, 2025 (BSS) - Low-income people in the district are
happy to get essential commodities at low prices in the month of Ramadan.
Mobile trucks are delivering the essential products in different places on the
occasion of the month of Ramadan as many people have been seen waiting in
line since midnight to get these products.
The low-income people of the district are happy to get these TCB products at a
low price, especially during the month of Ramadan.
Farzana Banu, a resident of Chakmuktar area of the district town, said she came
to the upazila parishad premises around 4 am to get TCB products.
Every day, around 400 people receive the essential products.
Abdul Karim Mondal, a resident of Dayal Mor, said "Hundreds of low-income
people like me are being benefited after getting the products at a lower price. I am
happy to receive these TCB products despite the hardship."
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ibnul Abedin told BSS that the government
decided to sell Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) products through
mobile trucks in 64 districts of the country to provide daily necessities to low-
income people at low prices during the holy month of Ramadan.
The program of selling daily necessities to low-income people through mobile
trucks at subsidized prices started from March 5.
Products are being provided on priority basis to people with special needs,
including physically challenged and patients.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal told BSS that the low-income
people of the district are breathing a sigh of relief after getting these TCB products
at low prices.
People of all classes and professions are also able to get various products at low
prices. The program will continue until March 28, he said.
Two liters of soybean oil, two kg of lentils and one kg of sugar are being sold at a
package price of Taka 390 at five points in Naogaon Municipality and Sadar
upazila through the TCB trucks.
