DINAJPUR, March 23, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Lohachara area under Hakimpur upazila of the district this afternoon.

The accident took place around 2.30 pm on the Hili-Birampur road when an oil tanker turned turtle and fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving its helper and passenger dead on the spot and injured driver, said M Sujon Miah, Officer-in-Charge of Hakimpur Police Station.

Injured driver Zahidur, 48, was taken to the upazila health complex.
    
The deceased were helper Russell Islam, 45, son of Surat Ali of Mathkhur area under Panchbibi upazila in Joypurhat district and oil manager Sabbir Hossain, 40, resident of Dhaka Puranpul area.
