SATKHIRA, March 23, 2025 (BSS) – A physically challenged man was killed allegedly by his brothers and nephews over a land dispute in Pakhimara Kheyaghat area under Shyamnagar upazila of the district this morning.

The victim was identified as Quader Morol, 65, son of late Khatib Ali Morol, a resident of the village.

Locals said there was a long-standing dispute between Quader Morol and his brothers Mosharraf Morol, Ahed Morol and Rafiqul Morol over a land of their dwelling house.

They locked into an altercation over the matter this morning. At one stage of their altercation, his brothers and nephews indiscriminately punched Quader Morol on his neck, stomach and chest. As a result, he lost consciousness.

Later, he was taken to Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shyamnagar Police Station Md Humayun Kabir said legal process is underway in this connection.
