Md Ashraful Islam, Judge of the Khulna Divisional Special Judge Court, pronounced the verdict in the presence of the accused.
The judge also fined him Taka 7,000. In default, he will have to serve an additional two months of RI.
According to the prosecution, Masud Hasan and his wife Yasmin, owners of Milky Ice Cream Factory in the Mujgunni Residential area of the city, brought Seema, a nine-year-old girl, from Chardaulatpur village under Lohagora upazila in Narail, as a domestic help in 2009. However, the girl went missing in 2012 from their residence.
On May 7, 2012, Seema’s mother, Sufia Begum, filed a case with a Women and Children Oppression Prevention Special Tribunal, accusing house owner Masud Hasan and his relatives, Mohammad Ali Khondokar and Masud Sheikh.

Meanwhile, police recovered an unidentified decomposed body of a 28-year-old woman from Line Beel under Dumuria upazila in Khulna and, during the investigation, accused house owner Masud Hasan and his wife Yasmin of killing Seema.
On November 9, 2012, advocate Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan filed a writ petition with the High Court after seeing the news in a weekly newspaper. On December 12, 2012, the High Court ordered an immediate rescue operation for Seema and directed the ACC to probe the incident.
On April 30, 2015, the ACC rescued Seema from Chattogram and revealed that IO Shah Alam had staged the drama to frame Masud and Yasmin.
Later, on August 31, 2024, the ACC submitted a charge sheet against Shah Alam to the Khulna Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court.
