RANGPUR, March 23, 2025 (BSS) - Ganosamhati Andolan Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki has said that attempts are being made to put many people, including the state institution, against each other in various ways.

“Different kinds of attempts are being made to create instability in the country and to pit many people, state institutions and army, against each other. Such instability can disrupt the democratic process. Instability will not bring good to any of us,” he said.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and Iftar mahfil organised by the organisation's Rangpur metropolitan and district units at the Rupkatha Community Hall in Rangpur city this evening.

Saki called on all political parties, all individuals, and even the interim government to play an important role in ensuring that the democratic process continues.

He said, “We should all play a role in making the dreams of the people of this country come true. Those who are creating instability should behave responsibly.”

He said that the Awami League as a party must be brought to justice. Sheikh Hasina herself ordered the killing. Women and children were killed by shooting from helicopters. Everyone involved in the killing, including Sheikh Hasina, must be brought to justice.

Saki said there are various conspiracies going on, mob attacks are going on in the name of ‘Towhidi Janata’, attacks are going on against different groups and so on.

Such work will help the Indian media, the ruling party of India, in their attempt to present Bangladesh to the world in the way they want.

He said, “People have seen the kind of comments made by the head of the US intelligence department, Tulsi Gayward, about Bangladesh. These comments are being made in various ways.”

Saki said, the dictator fell through the 1990 mass uprising. Although people hoped for democracy, they have seen that there has been no fundamental change in the state system.

“Due to the lack of proper goals and programmes, the post-1990 governments have come under the same state structure and taken away the people's right to vote and the power that the people had,” he said.

He also said, “Sheikh Hasina, when she came to power, abolished the supervisory system that she claimed. She took away the people's right to vote by stuffing the entire state machinery into her pockets. She has established a terrible fascism”

“Sheikh Hasina turned the three national elections in 2014, 2018 and 2024 into a farce. She has made a farce with the people by robbing votes in the dead of night, getting 153 people elected unopposed or electing dummy candidates from her own party,” Saki said.

Ganosamhati Andolan Rangpur metropolitan convener Md. Abdul Jabbar presided over the event moderated by its Rangpur district organizer Pratyayee Mizan.
