KHULNA, March 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) has distributed Eid gifts among families of the martyrs of the July-August student-led uprising in the district. 

Representatives of the foundation handed over the Eid gifts to the family members of martyrs - Sakib Raihan, Rakibul Islam, Nobi Nur Morol and Yasin Sheikh at their respective residences located at various parts of the district. 
 

Over providing the gifts, Amirul Islam Kagoji, ZRF Director and convener of the Khulna divisional Eid gift distribution committee, said "Many families have been left destitute after losing their breadwinner in the student-led mass uprising. 

"In this reality, President of ZRF and Acting Chairperson of BNP Tarique Rahman has instructed to distribute gifts among the families of the July-August uprising martyrs to share the joy of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr with everyone," he said. 

He stated that Tarique Rahman is happy as the foundation could extend assistance to the families who lost their beloved ones in the mass uprising. 

Agriculturist Dr. S M Ferdous Ahmed, syndicate member of Khulna University and member secretary of the divisional Eid gift distribution committee, along with Agriculturist Shamimur Rahman, ZRF Director, and agriculturists Md Kamrul Islam and Md Nazrul Islam, coordinators of the gift distribution committee, were present, among others. 

Of the martyrs, Nobi Nur Morol, a fish trader from Srikanthapur village of Paikgachha upazila, was shot dead at Savar area on July 12 last year, while Sakib Raihan, a madrasah student, resident of Nobopolli area, was killed in Mirpur area in the capital during the uprising.
