MYMENSINGH, March 24, 2025 - Police arrested Asif Hossen alias Don, the former panel mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) and councilor of Ward No 7, for the third time on Sunday evening.
 
He was arrested at the entrance of Mymensingh Central Jail after being granted bail by the High Court in a previous case.

Kotwali Model Police Station officer-in-charge Shafiqul Islam confirmed the developments, saying Asif is facing charges under the Explosive Substances Act.

He is accused in three separate cases: the murder of Redwan Hossen Sagor during the July uprising in 2024, vandalizing a BNP party office, and violating the Explosive Substances Act.

Asif's previous arrests include one on October 25, 2024, from Azompur are at Uttara in the capital, followed by his release on December 25. His second arrest took place on February 2, 2025, in the Somvuganj Patgudam area of Mymensingh, where he was sent to jail for vandalizing the BNP office.
