NILPHAMARI, March 24, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 2,52,182 poor, helpless and destitute families of six upazilas and four municipalities of the district have received rice under Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The distribution of rice in 60 unions and four municipalities will be completed by tomorrow (March 25).

District Relief and Rehabilitation Office sources said each family will receive 10 kg of rice.

Of the total families, 40,913 in Domar upazila, 34,406 in Dimla, 43,297 in Jaldhaka, 26,207 in Kishoreganj, 55,087 in Sadar, 38,409 in Syedpur, 4,621 in Nilphamari municipality, 4,621 in Syedpur municipality, 3,081 in Jaldhaka municipality and 1,540 families in Domar Municipality.

District Relief and Rehabilitation officer Md. Monowarul Islam said distribution activities have started in various unions and municipalities since March 16.
