All-out preparations for safe, traffic jam-free Eid journey in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, March 28, 2025 (BSS) - The Highway Police of the Rangpur region have made all-out preparations to ensure a safe and traffic-free Eid journey in the Rangpur division during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival. 
 
Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Highway Police Rangpur Region Mohammad Tariqul Islam today informed BSS about the preparations taken for the purpose.
 
He said the Highway Police has deployed additional forces at important junction points of Rangpur Region, including Gobindaganj Bazar, Maya Mani Mour, Palashbari, Mithapukur, Shothibari, Pirganj Bazar, Saidpur and 10-mile areas of Dinajpur. 
 
"Along with this, the patrol party has been doubled in all these areas," he said. 
 
All police duties have been brought under strict surveillance. So that the 250-kilometer Bogura-Rangpur-Saidpur-10 Mile-Banglabandha highway remains traffic jam-free and crime-free. 
 
The pressure of vehicles on the highway has already increased significantly. Due to the extensive activities of the Highway Police, there was no traffic jam anywhere. 
 
He said, "It is expected that the traffic pressure will increase even more in the next two days. However, the Highway Police is fully prepared to alleviate that pressure on the highway."
 
While inspecting the important Gobindaganj Highway Junction point, Highway Police SP Mohammad Tariqul Islam told BSS that "The Eid journey in Rangpur division will be safe and traffic jam-free this time." 
 
The Highway Police SP is regularly supervising the duty of the police on duty on the highway, motivating them, and coordinating with local labor leaders. 
 
The district police and labor leaders are fully cooperating with the work of the Highway Police. 
 
Meanwhile, the movement of easy bikes and three-wheelers on the highway is being strictly controlled. As per the government instructions, the movement of all other freight trucks except cargo trucks has been stopped. 
 
In addition, all sand and stone carrying trucks from Hatibandha in Lalmonirhat have been stopped as per government instructions. I
 
Illegal shops and parking have been demolished on the highway from Gobindaganj in Gaibandha to Saidpur in Nilphamari at various places and in the markets. 
 
Wreckers have been kept ready for 24 hours to remove any vehicle that breaks down or meets with an accident on the highway.
 
Control rooms have been opened in Gobindaganj and at the Superintendent of Police's office. 
 
Highway Police apps have been launched centrally for passengers to provide any information online. 
 
Passengers are being advised to use Highway Police apps in any adverse situation. 
 
"Overall, it is hoped that this Eid journey of the people of Northbengal will be relatively comfortable, InshaAllah," he said, seeking the cooperation and support of the public, respected passengers and all concerned in this massive event.
