KHULNA, March 29, 2025 (BSS) - The main jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at 8.00am at the circuit house Eidgah in the city.
If the weather is unfavorable, the main congregation will be held at 8am at Khulna Town jame mosque. Another two jamaats will also be held here at 9.ooam and 10am respectively.
A press release of the Press Information Department (PID) of Khulna regional offices today said that Khulna District Administration has taken elaborate program to be celebrated the holy Eid-ul-Fitr with huge enthusiasm.
Khulna City Corporation and ward officials will organize separate Eid congregations in each ward of the city under their own management.
The national flag will be hoisted on all government, semi-government, private and autonomous buildings and lowered before sunset on the Eid day.
The main roads, important squares, road islands, and the Circuit House grounds in the city will be decorated with national flags and banners inscribed with "Eid Mubarak" in Bengali and Arabic.
Improved diet will be served at various hospitals, prisons, government children's homes, Chotomoni Nibash, social disability centers, child development centers, shelter centers, safe homes, vagrant welfare centers, and destitute welfare centers.
To highlight the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Islamic Foundation will organize seminars and discussions at a convenient time.
A friendly football match, organized by the District Sports Association, and a children's fair for underprivileged children, hosted by the District Children's Academy, will also be held to mark Eid.
Security measures will be taken by law enforcement agencies in various spots inside and outside the Khulna city for maintaining law and order during Eid.
Activities such as fireworks and firecrackers, setting up stalls by blocking roads, playing loud speakers or drums at high volumes, splashing colored water, and reckless motorcycle riding will be prohibited. Legal action will be taken against eve-teasers and miscreants.
To prevent activities by unconsciousness-inducing gangs, ointment gangs, pickpockets and snatchers, plainclothes police will be deployed at terminals, railway stations, bus and waterway terminals, while mobile courts will also be in operation.
Necessary steps will also be taken to prevent the circulation of counterfeit currency.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Betar Khulna Center will broadcast special programs, and local newspapers will publish special editions at their own initiative. Similar programs will be observed at the upazila level as well.
Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be held on March 31 or April 1, depending on the sighting of the moon.
