NAOGAON, March 31, 2025 (BSS) – A 17-year-old boy was killed and two of his friends were injured in a motorcycle accident in the district’s Sapahar Upazila.

The deceased was Shahin Alam, son of Mohammad Ibrahim of Pashchim Harirampur village at Porsha Upazila in the district.
 
The injured were Ahsan Ali (17), son of Tahir of Aladipur village at Sapahar Upazila and Zamirul (17), son of Mohammad Selim of Doarpal village at Porsha Upazila here.

Sapahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Aziz confirmed the matter and said the accident took place around 11am in Mirpara area when the motorcyclist lost control of the bike and hit a tree due to excessive speed.
 
Shahin Alam died on the spot, he said, adding that the three friends were out roaming around for celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr .
 
The injured Ahsan Ali and Zamirul were immediately taken to Sapahar Upazila Health Complex, the OC said, adding, later, Ali was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as he was in critical condition.
 
OC Abdul Aziz said the body will be handed over to Shahin’s family after completing necessary legal procedure.
