By Md Mamun Islam

RANGPUR, April 2, 2025 (BSS) – People are enjoying their time in a joyful atmosphere amidst the overflowing crowds at Rangpur's recreational centers, ignoring the scorching heat on the second day after the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Various recreational spots, including zoos, parks, children’s parks, and bridges over rivers, are now packed with people of all ages, from young children to adults.

The presence of children and teenagers, intoxicated with Eid joy, was particularly high. After the 2024 uprising, in a newly regained freedom, people from all walks of life are enjoying the Eid with their beloved ones. Guardians also took their children and teenagers out, sharing in the festive joy of Eid.

Long queues of visitors can be seen today at the Rangpur Zoo, Shishu Park, Surovi Entertainment Park, Tajhat Zamindar Bari and Museum, City Chikley Entertainment Park, Proyas Sena Park, Chikley Water Park, and Rupkotha Theme Park.

The tourist attractions, such as Town Hall Square, the DC intersection, the Teesta Railway Bridge in Kawnia, the Gangachara-Mohipur Teesta Road Bridge, Rangpur Zilla School Ground, the flyover adjacent to the Cantonment Public School and College, the RAMC square, and the Paira square, have now taken on the form of human seas.

At Rangpur Zoo, visitors walk from one cage to another, observing various animals and birds. Adults are introducing their children to different animals.

A large crowd has gathered in front of the lion cage. Children are particularly excited to see the lions, crocodiles, gharials, hippos, horses, Hanuman monkeys, donkeys, bears, deer, peacocks, and ostriches.

Inside the zoo, children Jannat, Kanika, Fuad, Manasi, Abrar, Fahad, Ravi, Pinky, Zahir, Sujanna, Arman, and many others were roaming in groups inside the children's park.

While speaking to BSS, Sujanna mentioned that they had a lot of joy and fun after coming there.

On the other hand, the Rangpur City Chikley Amusement Park, run by the Rangpur City Corporation, has made various arrangements to attract children and teenagers.

Speedboats are moving quickly from one side to the other on the bank of the park. Everyone is enjoying themselves as the speedboats race across the water, creating big waves that crash against both banks of the Beel.

People of all ages, young and old, are having fun in the splashing water. Chikley Water Park, located on the opposite side of the park and offering various types of rides, has become a fun place for visitors.

The same scenario has been observed at the Ganjipur Vinnojogot Entertainment Center, a few meters away from Rangpur city, Annnodanagar in Pirganj, Maya Bhuban in Badarganj, Teesta Park in Kawnia, and Ali Baba Theme Park in Pirgachha upazila.

The Proyas Sena Entertainment Park, built in the Rakta Gaurab Chattar area of Nisbetganj, is intertwined with the memories of the Liberation War.

The atmosphere of this huge park, decorated with greenery in the surrounding low-lying areas, including a part of the Ghagot River, is free from noise.

The Teesta Railway Bridge and Teesta Road Bridge at Kawnia have become overcrowded with enthusiastic people.

The same picture has been observed at the Mohipur Bridge Ghat in Gangachara upazila. The Teesta Road Bridge built on this ghat, surrounded by the Teesta River, serves as a crossing point for people from Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts. Boats and small speedboats are cruising along the water at one end of the Mohipur Bridge Ghat. Many people are enjoying rides on sailboats, creating a lively atmosphere by the river. At both ends of the bridge, there are floating, upscale restaurants offering a unique dining experience.

Dr. Md. Ambar Ali Talukder, Deputy Curator of Rangpur Amusement Park and Zoo, told BSS that more visitors have been noticed this time than in recent years. "Everyone is visiting the zoo in a happy mood, and children are spending their time happily."

Tourist Police Rangpur Zone Police Inspector Md. Mostafizur Rahman said that there are police at all entertainment centers in Rangpur. "A joyful atmosphere prevails everywhere," he said.
