SATKHIRA, April 6, 2025(BSS) – The export-import activities at Satkhira's Bhomra land port have resumed today after a nine-day shutdown due to Eid holidays.
The port's operations resumed in full swing from 9 am on Sunday (April 6).
General Secretary of Bhomra Land Port C&F Association Abu Musa told BSS that his association after a meeting with the C&F Agent Cargo Welfare Association of Ghojadanga in West Bengal, decided to suspend all sort of export-import activities from March 28 to April 5 through this land port.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Bhomra Immigration authority Tufan Dulal Mondal told this correspondent that though the import-export activities were suspended at that time but movement of passport holders was as usual.
Deputy Commissioner of Customs at Bhomra Land Port Abul Kalam Azad said that the export-import activities began this morning after nine days Eid vacation. Some 350 to 400 goods laden trucks used to cross the land port every day, he said.
The port has been playing a very import role in exporting and importing goods between Bangladesh and India and the government got revenue amounting to Taka 2.5 to 3 crore from this port every day, Abul Kalam Azad added.
