RANGPUR, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - The general public and students organised a 
protest rally at the Press Club premises in the city on Wednesday afternoon 
against Israel's heinous attack and genocide in Gaza of Palestine. 
 
Local Olama-Mashaekhs, Islamic scholars and activists, and people from 
different professions also participated in the event, expressing solidarity 
with the demands of the general public and students. 
 
Imtiaz Ahmed Imti, convener of the Rangpur Metropolitan Committee of the 
Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, students Abu Saleh Muhith and Shihurul 
Islam Saran, and people from different walks of life spoke at the programme.
 
Noted Islamic scholar Abu Taw Haa Muhammad Adnan, Bangladesh Islami Andolan 
Rangpur Metropolitan Secretary Md Amiruzzaman Piyal, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat 
organizer Hafez Moulana Mohammad Abu Isa, Jummapara Karimiya Madrasa teacher 
Arshad Idris, As-Saba Foundation member Ijtihad Mahmud, also spoke at the 
event. 
 
The speakers strongly protested the heinous attack and massacre by the 
Israeli forces in Palestine and called on the Muslim world to come out of the 
geopolitical strategies and traps set by the Western world and unite. 
 
They said that Israel is carrying out one hellish massacre after another in 
Gaza, Palestine. Their continuous barbaric aggression and massacre must be 
stopped. For this, the Muslim world must first wake up, forgetting all 
disagreements and differences. 
 
The OIC, the largest international organization of Muslims, must play a 
strong role in favor of Palestine to stop the genocide. Otherwise, world 
humanity and the Muslim community will become stagnant at some point. 
 
The students said that Israel is not a state, but rather a terrorist 
organization. If the Muslim countries that are silent today do not wake up, 
they will have to face such a situation one day. 
 
The speakers called on the world conscience to wake up to stop the barbaric 
Israeli genocide in Gaza immediately.
 
They further said that the UN and OIC must take legal actions against mass 
killer Netanyahu and his forces for human rights violations and war crimes 
and called on everyone to boycott Israeli products. 
 
After the protest rally, a protest march circled various streets of the city.
