NATORE, April 28, 2025(BSS) - The legal aid office here in the district resolved 253 disputes through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) over the past one year.

Officials disclosed the data at a discussion marking the National Legal Aid Day 2025 at the District Bar Bhaban today.

Natore Zila Legal Aid Association Chairman and Senior District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Md Nasirul Haque presided over the discussion.

Legal aid officer and Senior Assistant Judge Ismat Ara Tushi said the office realized Tk 46,72,000 through the ADR during the period.

The office additionally provided legal advice to 551 people and gave protection to individuals concerned in 519 cases free of cost.

Women and children repression prevention tribunal Judge Md Abdur Rahim, Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Al Amin, Additional District Magistrate Asma Khatun, Additional Police Super Md Ekramul Haque, Natore District Bar Association President Advocate Ruhul Amin Talukder Tagor and General Secretary Advocate Shariful Haque Mukta, addressed the discussion, among others.

Observance of the day began with releasing balloons and pigeons at the court premises in the morning, followed by a colourful rally with participation of the officers and employees of the legal aid office.

Tree plantation and voluntary blood donation programmes were also arranged on the occasion.
