CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 3,2021(BSS)-Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested three alleged smugglers with 135-kg of smuggled Indian tortoise bones from Bholahat upazila of the district this afternoon.  

The arrested persons are Md. Rafiqul Islam, 50, of Kumirjan village, Al Amin, 22, and Md Monirul Islam, 20, residents of Chamusa village of the upazila.

On a tip off, a patrol team of BGB-59 Battalion conducted a raid at the house of Rafiqul Islam at Kumirjan village and arrested Rafiqul with the tortoise bones worth about Tk. 13.50 lakh, BGB sources said.

Later, according to the confessional statement of Rafiqul, the BGB arrested Al Amin and Monirul.
