Strict lockdown continues in Gopalganj

 GOPALGANJ, July 3, 2021 (BSS)-Law enforcement agencies have been working in different parts in all five upazilas of the district on the third day of the week-long countrywide strict lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus infection.

  All shops and shopping malls have been closed since Thursday morning.

   Law enforcement agencies are setting up check posts at important crossing in all upazilas including the district headquarters, searching vehicles and asking pedestrians to get out.

   Locals are being barred from leaving the house without urgent need. The government has imposed a seven-day countrywide strict lockdown from 6 am from last Thursday to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

  All types of vehicles have been stopped in the district since morning. Some freight trucks and covered vans were running.

   Besides, Army, BGB, RAB, police, Ansar and village police are working under the guidance of district and upazila executive magistrate in various points in all upazilas to ensure strict lockdown as per government directives.

   Meanwhile, twelve mobile courts are conducting operations in the district and upazila headquarters to try to enforce the ban.

   The court has fined 39 people Tk 14,000 for various offenses including non-compliance with hygiene rules, leaving the house unnecessarily and not wearing masks.
