RANGPUR, Dec 1, 2021 (BSS) - The district and city unit command councils
of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Santan Sangsad (BMSS) accorded receptions to
valiant freedom fighters, brought out a rally and arranged a discussion here
today.
The reception was accorded marking celebration of the Golden Jubilee of
Independence alongside celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the Mujib Year.
Hundreds of freedom fighters and their heirs participated in the
colourful rally that paraded the streets from the Town Hall to Bangabandhu
Mural premises where they paid rich tribute to Bangabandhu in the metropolis.
Founding Chairman of the central command council of BMSS Md Solaiman
Miah formally inaugurated the programmes and delivered keynote speech in the
discussion held at Rangpur Town Hall auditorium.
Presided over by President of Rangpur city unit command council of BMSS
Md Belal Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters and Admin) of
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Md Mohidul Islam attended the discussion as the
chief guest.

Shushanto Bhowmick delivered a welcome speech.
Former Commander of Rangpur district unit command of Bangladesh
Muktijoddha Sangsad Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, Secretary General of the central
unit command council of BMSS Shafikul Islam Babu, its Joint Secretary General
Asaduzzaman Asad, its leaders Mamunur Rashid, Shahinur Rahman, Nur Mohammad
Monju and Shahadat Hossain Himel were present as special guests.
Speaking as the chief guest, Mohidul Islam said, "We have become
independent through the hands of the valiant freedom fighters, the best sons
and daughters of the soil. There is no way to repay their debt."
He said the debt would not be repaid with allowances, houses, jobs and
quotas. The freedom fighters have gifted the nation independence and country.
"Today we are a proud nation in the world arena for Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his able daughter Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina. We must be forever grateful to the freedom fighters," he said.
At the end of the discussion, the heroic freedom fighters were given
honorary mementos as well as high quality blankets.
