3 killed in two Rajshahi road mishaps

 RAJSHAHI, Nov 2, 2021 (BSS)- Three people, including a father and his
school-going son, were killed in two separate road accidents in the district
today.

    Police said the father identified as Saju Mian, 40, and his son Abdullah
Arif, 12, were killed on the spot when a BRTC bus knocked them down at
Bijoynagar Bashlitala area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Godagari
Upazila.

    Sazu Mian was setting his son to reach school riding on motorbike but the
bus ran over them as its driver lost control over his steering at 9.15 am,
said Kamrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Godagari Model Police Station.

    Arif was a student of class seven in the nearby Rajabarihat High School,
while his father was employed in an NGO.

    Police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for post
mortem. They also seized the bus, said the police officer.

    Another motor-biker was also killed on the spot when a speeding bus ran
over him at Salbagan area on Rajshahi-Naogaon highway under Boalia Police
Station in the city.

    The deceased identified as Nazmul Islam, 45, son of Mokshed Ali of Billy
Bazar area in Tanore Upazila, was a village doctor. He met with a tragic road
accident while he was coming to the city at 8.30 am.

     Nibaran Chandra Barman, Officer-in-Charge of Boalia Police Station, said
the bus managed to escape just after the accident.
