RANGPUR, Dec 2, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 1.42 percent Covid-
19 positivity rate as four fresh cases were reported after testing 282 new
samples in the division on Thursday.
Health officials said the coronavirus pandemic situation continues to
improve during the last three months in all eight districts of Rangpur
division.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 3.54 percent on
Wednesday, 1.45 percent on Tuesday, 2.59 percent on Monday, 1.84 percent on
Sunday, 5.49 percent on Saturday and 1.75 percent on Friday last in the
division.
Among the four new patients, two were reported positive after testing 94
samples at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) Covid-19 laboratory at the
positivity rate of 2.13 percent.
"The two new patients include one each from Rangapur and Lalmonirhat
districts," Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu told BSS at 4
pm.
On the other hand, two more new patients were reported after diagnosing
188 samples at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) Covid-19 laboratory in
Dinajpur at the daily positivity rate of 3.45 percent today.
"The two new patients include one each from Dinajpur and Thakurgaon
districts," said Principal of MARMC Prof Dr Syed Nazir Hossain said.
Talking to BSS, Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam said
the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,576 as four new positive
cases were reported today from across the division.
The district-wise break up of total 55,576 patients include 12,510 of
Rangpur, 3,824 of Panchagarh, 4,460 of Nilphamari, 2,750 of Lalmonirhat,
4,646 of Kurigram, 7,670 of Thakurgaon, 14,846 of Dinajpur and 4,870 of
Gaibandha in the division.
