SUNAMGANJ, Dec 2, 2021 (BSS) - A court here today awarded life-term
imprisonment to a person and various terms imprisonment to nine others for
killing a man in Sunamganj 22 years back.

  Additional district and sessions judge Mohi Uddani Murad delivered the
verdict this afternoon.

  ccording to the prosecution, a clash broke out between the supporters of
Abdul Hai Azad Machku Miah and Arju Miah at Balarpirpur under Chhatak upazila
of the district on November 22, 1999.

  During the clash, Arju Miah, elder brother of Tarob Miah, 62, was seriously
injured and died while undergoing treatment.

  On 24 November 1999, Sirajul Islam, nephew of Tarob Miah, filed a murder
case against 48 people with Chhatak police station.

  On 21, 2004, police submitted the charge sheet against the accused.
