RANGPUR, Dec 4, 2021 (BSS) - The number of recovered Covid-19 patients
rose to 53,477 with the healing of 13 more patients during the last 24 hours
ending at 8 am today in Rangpur division.
Health officials said the average recovery rate of Covid-19 patients
currently stands at 96.21 percent since the outbreak of the pandemic in the
division.
"The Covid-19 recovery rate continues rising at a slower rate in the
division where the pandemic situation continues to improve in the last three
months," Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
The 53,477 recovered patients include 11,640 of Rangpur, 3,691
Panchagarh, 4,365 of Nilphamari, 2,625 of Lalmonirhat, 4,527 of Kurigram,
7,372 of Thakurgaon, 14,462 of Dinajpur and 4,795 of Gaibandha districts in
the division.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 cases reached 55,582 as five fresh
cases were diagnosed after testing 175 new samples at the positivity rate of
2.86 percent on Friday in the division.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 1.43 percent on
Thursday, 3.54 percent on Wednesday, 1.45 percent on Tuesday, 2.59 percent on
Monday and 1.84 percent on Sunday last in the division
"The district-wise break up of total 55,582 patients include 12,512 of
Rangpur, 3,826 Panchagarh, 4,460 of Nilphamari, 2,750 of Lalmonirhat, 4,646
of Kurigram, 7,670 of Thakurgaon, 14,848 of Dinajpur and 4,870 of Gaibandha
in the division," he said.
"Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, a total of 3,01,137
collected samples were tested till Friday, and of them, 55,582 were found
positive with an average positivity rate of 18.46 percent in the division,"
Dr Islam said.
In the meantime, the number of casualties remained steady at 1,245 as no
new death was reported during the last 24 hours from the division.
The district-wise break up of the 1,245 fatalities stands at 293 in
Rangpur, 81 in Panchagarh, 89 in Nilphamari, 68 in Lalmonirhat, 69 in
Kurigram, 254 in Thakurgaon, 328 in Dinajpur and 63 in Gaibandha of the
division.
The average casualty rate currently stands at 2.24 percent in the
division.
Among total 55,582 Covid-19 patients, 31 are undergoing treatments at
isolation units, including eight patients at ICU and four at High Dependency
Unit beds, after recovery of 53,477 patients and 1,245 deaths while 829 are
remaining in home isolation.
"Meanwhile, the number of citizens who got the first dose of the Covid-
19 vaccine rose to 74,41,477, and among them, 39,40,397 got the second dose
of the jab till Friday in the division," Dr Islam added.
Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and
Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu urged
all to abide by the health directives despite the Covid-19 situation
improving in the division.
