Strict lockdown continues in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, July 4, 2021 (BSS) - Law-enforcing agencies along with different voluntary organizations have been working to enforce the restrictions under the weeklong countrywide strict lockdown imposed by the government since last Thursday to stem the rising trend of coronavirus pandemic.
 
“The law-enforcement agencies including army, BGB and police and various voluntary organizations like rover scouts and Red Crescent society under the supervision of district administration have been making untiring efforts jointly to let the local people aware to remain indoors and not to come out of their homes without any emergency needs to avert the Covid-19 infections”, deputy commissioner (DC) Kazi Mohammad Abdur Rahman said today at a press briefing held at his official conference room here.
 
The DC informed that a number of 33 executive magistrates, five teams of armed forces, three teams of BGB and 347 additional police forces have been working in the district town to enforce the lockdown.
 
During the last three days of the lockdown, the executive magistrates of the district administration conducted mobile courts throughout the district and realized Taka 3,04,750 as fine from lockdown violators after filing 396 cases, he said.

Replying to a question, the DC said, a Covid-19 medicare unit with 32 beds and 379 oxygen cylinders have already been opened in Netrakona Sader hospital to provide treatment to the corona patients.
 
“We continue reaching foodstuffs to the doorsteps of the helpless, needy and jobless people around the district everyday as per directives of the government to mitigate their sufferings”, he said.
 
Deputy director of local government department Zia Ahmed Sumon, additional deputy commissioner (revenue) Monir Hussain were present at the press briefing.
