Literary culture practice enlightens people: Justice Enayetur

RANGPUR, Dec 4, 2021 (BSS) - Justice M. Enayetur Rahim of the High Court Division of Supreme Court of Bangladesh has said the practice of literary culture enlightens people.

“People of literature can never be communal. Without the practice of literature and culture, communalism becomes rampant,” he said today while addressing a literary conference held at the Town Hall in the metropolis as the chief guest.

Justice M. Enayetur Rahim said literary practice in our country has taken a long time.

“Our present generation has to take the literary practice forward properly. We have to enlighten ourselves,” he said.

Rangapur Sahitya Parishad (RSP) organised the day-long Divisional Literary Conference-2021 with the slogan "Hridoye Moder Chiranjeev, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib" with President of RSP Professor Md Mozammel Haque in the chair.

Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa attended the literary event as a special guest.

General Secretary of RSP valiant freedom fighter Akbor Hossain delivered the welcome speech at the literary conference participated by literary personalities from across the country.

Five meritorious citizens were honored with awards this time in the literary conference.

The award recipients are Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Sonali Bank Limited Md. Ataur Rahman Prodhan, Independence Award winner artist Ashraful Alam, internationally reputed photojournalist and Ekushey Padak winner Pavel Rahman, Chief Engineer of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Md. Abdul Malek and former Head of the Department of Bengali of Rangpur Carmichael College Professor Muhammad Abdul Alim (Posthumous).

Among the award winners, Ashraful Alam and Pavel Rahman addressed the occasion jointly moderated by Advocate Jobaidul Islam Bullet and Dr. Nasima Akhter.

Later, literary discussions, poem recitation,s and pleasant cultural programs were arranged with the participation of poets, writers, and literary personalities from different parts of the country, including Rangpur division.
