JAMALPUR, Dec 4, 2021 (BSS) - Journalists formed a human chain here today demanding the removal of the superintendent of police for making defamatory comments against journalists.

In the human chain held at the Doyamoyee intersection, journalists gave a 24-hour ultimatum for the removal of SP Nasir Uddin Ahmed, who hurled abusive words against senior journalists of Jamalpur press club for not attending a meeting of Punak fair called by SP on Friday. The SP also threatened to implicate journalists under Digital Act.
 
The human chain was presided over by Hafiz Rayhan Sada while it was addressed, among others, by Lutfar Rahman, Azizur Rahman Doll, Md Mukhlesur Rahman, Anwar Hossain Mintu, Bazlur Rahman, Soeb Hossain, Sultan Alam, Fazle Elahi Makam, Freedom fighter Abdur Rashid, Zahid Habib and Shah Jamal.

The journalists also declared further agitation programs including sit-in on DC office premises and submission of a memorandum to Prime Minister and Home Minister through DC tomorrow.
