RAJSHAHI, Dec 8, 2021 (BSS) - The present government of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for the development of women.

   Taking the issue of women importance to the nation-building process into
special consideration the government has adopted diversified programmes so
that the womenfolk can contribute to take the nation forward spontaneously.

   Administrative officials came up with the observation while addressing an
orientation workshop for the grassroots population at Paba Upazila Parishad
hall room in the district on Tuesday.

   District Information Office (DIO) organized the workshop in association
with its project titled "Awareness Communication Programme for Children and
Women Development" discussing and devising ways and means on how to attain
the cherished goal.

   Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr Humayun Kabir addressed the meeting
as chief guest, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer Lashmi Chakma was in the chair.

   Civil Surgeon Dr Quiume Talukder, DIO Director Farhad Hossain and its
Deputy Director Nafeyala Nasrin and Upazila Vice-chairman Wazed Ali also
spoke.

   Terming the present government as women-friendly Dr Humayun Kabir said the
government has attached top priority for women development.

   He put emphasis on both men-women equal participation for achieving the
SDGs by 2030 coupled with building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh by
2041.

   Dr Kabir called for a concerted effort of all the government and non-
government organizations concerned for freeing the women and children from
all sorts of violence and repression.

   Utmost emphasis should be given on physical and mental development of the
children, he added.
