34 chronic disease patients get assistance at Sundarganj

  GAIBANDDHA, DEC 19, 2021 (BSS) - Thirty four patients infected with
critical diseases have received financial aid from the department of social
services under the Ministry of Social Welfare for treatment at Sundarganj
upazila in the district.

  A function for distributing cheques of the assistance was held at the
auditorium of the upazila parishad on Saturday afternoon with Upazila Nirbahi
Officer (UNO) Mohammad Al- Maruf in the chair.

  Local lawmaker Barrister Shameem Haider Patwari attended the function as
the chief guest.

   Upazila social services officer Rafiquzzaman Khan, local school teachers
Md. Sahjahan Miah and Abdul Mannan Akond addressed the function, among
others.

   The lawmaker distributed the cheques of grant to the patients.

  Each of the patients received a cheque of TK 50,000.

  Fazlul Haque, deputy director of the department of social services, here
told the BSS that cheques of grant were distributed to 285 patients of all
seven upazilas of the district this month.
