JASHORE, Dec 21, 2021 (BSS) - A total of 47,500 blankets have been allocated for the helpless and cold-hit people in 93 unions and 8 municipalities of eight upazilas of the district.
District administration sources said the Prime Minister's Relief Fund allocated the blankets.
According to district relief and rehabilitation sources, 7,050 blankets were allocated for 15 unions under Jashore Sadar Upazila while 470 blankets for 9 wards of Jashore Municipality, 7,990 blankets for 17 unions of Monirampur Upazila, 470 blankets for 9 wards in Monirampur municipality, 3760 blankets for 8 unions of Abhaynagar Upazila, 470 blankets in 9 wards in Noapara municipality, 4230 blankets for 9 unions of Bagherpara upazila, 470 blankets in 9 wards of Bagherpara municipality, 5,170 blankets for 11 unions of Chaugachha upazila, 470 blankest for 9 wards of Chaugachha municipality, 5170 blankest for 11 unions in Jhikargachha upazila, 470 blankest for 9 wards in Jhikargachha municipality, 5170 blankest for 11 unions in Keshabpur upazila, 470 blankest in 9 wards in Keshabpur municipality, 5170 blankets in 11 unions of Sharsha upazila, 470 blankets for 9 wards in Benapole municipality.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Tamizul Islam Khan said that the blankets were sent to the upazila parishads for the helpless, destitute and helpless people.
The blankest will be distributed soon, the DC added.
