GAIBANDDHA, DEC 24, 2021 (BSS) - As many as 71 patients infected with
chronicle diseases have received financial help from the department of social
services under the Ministry of Social Welfare for treatment at Sadar Upazila
in the district.  

A function for distributing cheques was held at the auditorium of the Upazila
Parishad yesterday afternoon with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rafiul Alam
in the chair.

Local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum attended the function as the chief guest.  

Upazila chairman Shah Sarwar Kabir, Upazila social service officer Nasir
Uddin Shah addressed the function, among others.  

Later, the lawmaker distributed the cheques of the grant of Tk 35.50 lakh
to the patients.   

Each of the patients received a cheque of Tk 50,000.   

Fazlul Haque, deputy director of the department of social services, here told
the BSS that cheques of the grant were distributed among 285 patients of all
seven Upazilas of the district this month.
