MANIKGANJ, Dec 25, 2021 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has completed

all necessary preparations for holding nine Union Parishad (UP) elections of
Saturia upazila of the district scheduled to be held tomorrow.

  District Election Office said a total of 36 candidates will be contest for
nine chairmen posts, 283 for 81 general members and 97 female candidates for
27 women reserved seats.

   Besides, a total of 1, 42, 004 voters will cast their votes in 483 booths
of 81 centers.

  District Election Officer Sheikh Mohammad Habibur Rahman said a total of 81
Presiding Officers, 454 Assistant Presiding Officers and 908 Polling Officers
were appointed for conducting the election.

  Earlier, all the election officials were given training for conducting
smooth election, adding: "All election-related materials were also sent to
the concerned election centers."

   Law enforcers have been deployed in all voting centers to maintain law and
order situation. The vote will begin at 8 am and it will continue till 4 pm
without any break.
