RANGPUR, Jan 1, 2022 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 4.08 percent
Covid-19 positivity rate as two fresh cases were reported after testing 49
new samples in the division on Saturday.
Health officials said the pandemic situation continued to improve amid
declining positivity and rising recovery rates during the last four months in
the division.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 0.64 percent on Friday,
6.58 percent on Thursday, 2.39 percent on Wednesday, 1.32 percent on Tuesday,
3.01 percent on Monday and 6.34 on Sunday last in the division.
All the two new patients were reported positive after testing 49 samples
at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in
Dinajpur today.
"The two new patients are hailing from different areas of Dinajpur
district," said Principal of MARMC Professor Dr Syed Nazir Hossain.
Meanwhile, no test was conducted at the Covid-19 Laboratory at Rangpur
Medical College (RpMP) today, Acting Principal of Rangpur Medical College
Professor Dr. Md. Mahfuzer Rahman said.
Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam said the total
number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,758 as two new positive cases were
reported today from across the division.
"The district-wise break up of total 55,758 patients include 12,562 of
Rangpur, 3,835 Panchagarh, 4,463 of Nilphamari, 2,763 of Lalmonirhat, 4,649
of Kurigram, 7,702 of Thakurgaon, 14,905 of Dinajpur and 4,879 of Gaibandha
in the division," he said.
