CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 4, 2022 (BSS) - The elections to 14 Union Parishad
(UP)'s of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila will be held tomorrow as part of the
5th phase UP polling across the country.

   The voting will start at 8 am and it will continue till 4 pm.

  The unions where polling will be held are - Baliadanga, Gobratala, Jhilim,
Baroghoria, Moharajpur, Ranihati, Char Anupnagar, Debinagar, Alatuli,
Shahjahanpur, Islampur, Charbagdanga, Narayanpur and Sundarpur.

  Upazila Election Office sources said a total of 65 candidates are
contesting the chairmen, 549 vying for members and 173 for women reserved
seats.

  A total of 2, 67,435 voters -- 1,35,241 male and 1,32,194 female -- will
cast their franchise in 134 centres, they added.

  A total of 134 presiding officers, 790 assistant presiding officers and
1,580 polling officers will be tasked with conducting the voting process
smoothly.

  Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila Election Officer Md. Mahbubul Kabir said all
measures have been taken to hold the elections in a free and fair atmosphere.
