RAJSHAHI, Jan 4, 2022 (BSS)- A total of 36 beautician and owner of beauty
parlors received Taka 92 lakh from Prime Minister's incentive package during
the period of Covid-19 pandemic in Rajshahi.
They were given financial support so that they can get back to normal life
after overcoming the adverse impact of the pandemic.
Zafar Bayezid, deputy general manager of Bangladesh Small and Cottage
Industries Corporation (BSCIC), revealed this while addressing a conference
and get together of Beauty Service Owners Association Bangladesh at a
restaurant in the city today as the chief guest.
He said they got Taka five crore from the PM's incentive package in two
phases during the pandemic period to help the stakeholders for overcoming the
Covid-19 fallout. Of those, 36 beauticians were given Taka 92 lakh.
Many of the women are becoming self-reliant through beauty parlor
ventures.
Many of the entrepreneurs hardest-hit by the adverse impact of Covid-19
pandemic situation were given financial support from the Prime Minister's
stimulus package fund, Zafar Bayezid said.
BSCIC disbursed the incentive loans to cottage, micro, small and medium
enterprise (CMSME) entrepreneurs so that they can recoup their losses.
Another 15 entrepreneurs were given loans worth Taka 30 lakh aimed at
facilitating them to strengthen their respective enterprises for the sake of
boosting income-generating activities alongside job opportunities.
Zafar Bayazid told the meeting that the maximum interest rate at the
customer level of this loan is four percent. Entrepreneurs will be able to
repay the loan in a maximum of two years in 18 monthly equal installments,
with a grace period of six months, he added.
With President of the association Rukhsana Huda in the chair, the meeting
was addressed, among others, by Deputy Director of the Department of Women
Affairs Shobnom Shirin and Central President of the association Kaniz Almas
Khan.
