CHATTOGRAM, Jan 11, 2022 (BSS) - City Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury
said that the installation of incinerator plant has opened new horizon
in waste management system of Chattogram City Corporation.

  "Incinerator plants have been set up to destroy the infectious
medical waste. Near about five tons of medical waste can be destroyed
daily through this plant. It is an eco-friendly sophisticated system,"
he added.

  Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said this as the chief guest while
inaugurating the JICA-funded incinerator plant in city's Anandabazar
area on Tuesday morning.

   CCC CEO Mohammad Shahidul Alam presided over the function while
Ambassador of Japan Ito Naoki, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of
Local Government Dr. Moloy Chowdhury, Joint Secretary Sabur Hossain,
JICA Chief Representative Hayakawa Yoho, Senior Representative Psyche
Takashi, Panel Mayor Md. Gias Uddin, Afroza Kalam, Councilor Abdul
Mannan, CCC Secretary Khaled Mahmud and Mayor's Private Secretary
Muhammad Abul Hashem, among others, attended the function.
