NATORE, Aug 22, 2026 (BSS) - Two people were killed in a road accident in Barohorshipur Bypass area of the district town here this afternoon.
 
The deceased were identified as Sabbir Hossain, 23, son of Jamshed Ali of Joynagar Purba Para in Natore Sadar upazila and Abu Sayeed, 45, son of Hasan Ali of Rajbipur village under Barohorshipur union of the upazila.
 
Police said the accident occurred around 1:30pm when a bus of Shishir Paribahan, travelling from Rajshahi to Dhaka, hit a battery-run auto van from behind, leaving its driver and passenger dead on the spot.
 
Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Jhalmalia Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter and said the bodies were recovered and sent to the morgue of Natore General Hospital.
 
Legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway, he said.
