Five women adorned with Joyeeta Award in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Feb 2, 2022 (BSS) - Five women were conferred the Joyeeta Award for attaining success in different fields by overcoming various difficulties and challenges in the district.

The awardees are Sonia Sultana in economy, Runu Rani Saha in education and employment, Aleya Begum in successful mother, Swarashati Rani Biswas in prevention of repression and Chanchola Mondol in social development categories.

Faridpur district administration arranged the award distribution program at the deputy commissioner’s office yesterday morning with the support of Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira virtually joined the program as the chief guest.

She said the country is going ahead with empowerment of women led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.


The women will have to play a vital role utilizing their intelligence and ability in nation building activities, she said.

“The government is trying to incorporate women into development process for which Joyeeta Award has been introduced,” she added.

The Joyeeta Award – a government initiative that is given to women in five categories titled "Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh".

Secretary to the Ministry Dr Md Anwar Hossain Howlader, Director General (DG) of Department of Women Affairs Farida Parveen and Deputy inspector general of police of Dhaka range Habibur Rahman remotely spoke on the occasion.

Presided over by Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Khalilur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarker, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dipok Kumar Shil, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jamal Pasha, district Awami League Joint Secretary Jhorna Hasan and Mashuda Hossain of Department of district Women Affairs, among others, joined the program.
