RAJSHAHI, Feb 6, 2022 (BSS) - Police detained three members of Islami Chhatra Shibir on charge of their ill-motive to commit subversive activities and conspiracies against the government in Rajshahi city this noon.
 
Police also seized zihadi books, banners for procession, member collection forms and donation and toll collection books from their possessions.
 
The arrested persons were identified as Shihab Sumon, son of Zillur Rahman of Dadpur village and Yousuf Ali, 20, son of Enamul Haque of Shibganj village in Chapainawabganj district and Al Mamun, 19, son of Ataur Rahman of Chengmary village in Ranisankail Upazila of Thakurgaon district.
 
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique said the detained people were holding a secret meeting with an ulterior motive to hatch anti-government conspiracies besides conducting subversive activities.
 
On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid in a house at Hetemkha area under Boalia Police Station around 1.30 pm and arrested them red-handed.
 
A case was recorded with Boalia Police Station in this connection, the police commissioner added.
