RANGPUR, Feb 8, 2022 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested six alleged drug traders and seized 550 grams of contraband heroin and a microbus from Saidpur upazila town in Nilphamari district on Monday night.
 
“On a tip off, the elite force conducted a raid and arrested them from in front of Trust Technical Training Institute in Saidpur town,” a press release issued here by Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Mahmud Bashir Ahmed said today.
 
During the raid, the elite force seized 550 grams of heroin packed in six mini polythene packets with a microbus and seven mobile phone sets from the possessions of the detainees.
 
The arrested persons were identified as Md. Humayun Kabir, 24, Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, 22, Md. Sohel Rana, 27, Md. Sadek Ali, 26, Md. Milon Ali, 15, and Md. Tanzid Hasan, 17, of Chapainawabganj district.
 
During primary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted their involvement in drug trading in connivance with their other cohorts for a long time.
 
“After filing a case in this connection against the arrested person, the elite force handed over him to Saidpur police station in Nilphamari district,” the release added.
