RAJSHAHI, Feb 11, 2022 (BSS) - With the healing of 657 more patients from the Covid-19 on Thursday, the total recovery count in the division rose to 1,04,924 since the pandemic began in March, 2020.
A total of 266 more people have tested positive for the deadly virus in all eight districts of the division on the day, raising the caseload to 1,16,925 so far.
The new positive cases are showing a falling trend compared to the previous day's figure of 481, Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of Health, said.
The death toll reached 1,730, including 702 in Bogura, 335 in Rajshahi with 215 in its city and 177 in Natore as one new fatality was reported during the last 24 hours, he said. Besides, all the positive cases of Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under treatment while 25,549 were kept in isolation units of different dedicated hospitals for institutional quarantine. Of them, 21,233 have been released.
Meanwhile, 137 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 207 others were released from isolation during the same period.
Of the 266 new infected cases, 59 were detected in Rajshahi, including 54 in its city, followed by 57 in Sirajganj, 42 in Pabna, 27 in Naogaon, 26 in Bogura, 21 in Natore, 20 in Chapainawabganj and 14 in Joypurhat districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 33,561 in Rajshahi including 27,600 in its city, 6,396 in Chapainawabganj, 7,633 in Naogaon, 9,584 in Natore, 5,537 in Joypurhat, 24,702 in Bogura, 13,364 in Sirajganj and 16,148 in Pabna districts.
A total of 1,23,488 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10, 2020 to prevent community transmission of the deadly COVID-19.
Of them, 1,18,543 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their quarantine.
