Heroic freedom fighter Yusuf Ali passes away

 RANGPUR, Feb 11, 2022 (BSS) - Heroic freedom fighter (FF) Md. Yusuf Ali died of a heart attack at his residence in village Sardaertaluk Kalkapur in Tepamadhupur union of Kawnia upazila of the district on Thursday.

   He was 67.

   Ali is survived by his wife, three daughters, a son, host of friends, relatives, admirers and fellow heroic freedom fighters and well-wishers to mourn his death.

   The news of his death cast a pall of gloom in the socio-cultural, political, professional and every arena of Kawnia upazila as well as in Rangpur district as a whole.

   His body was taken this noon to nearby Bhayerhat Girls' High School ground in the afternoon.

   Yusuf's fellow heroic freedom fighters, friends, politicians, educationists, socio-cultural activists and civil society members paid their last respect to the heroic son of the soil.

   Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Kawnia upazila Mehedi Hasan, Vice-chairman of Kawnia upazila parishad Abdur Razzaque and Sub-inspector of Kawnia Thana Osman Gano put the National flag and floral wreaths on his coffin on behalf the state.

   A smart contingent of police forces gave a guard of honour and bugle played the last post before his Namaz-E-Janaza there after the Asr prayers on Thursday.

   Later, he was buried beside his parents and forefathers at their family graveyard in native village Sardaertaluk Kalkapur with full state honour.

   Liberation War Affairs Secretary of Rangpur diastrict Awami League heroic freedom foighter Sader Abdul Hakim, heroic freedomn fighter Liyakat Ali, former chiramn of Tepamadhuopur union parisahd Shafikul islam and its incumbent Chairman Rashedul islam attended the Namaz-e-Janaza.

    In a message, Commerce Minister and heroic freedom fighter Tipu Munshi condoled the death of heroic freedom fighter Yusuf Ali, conveyed deep sympathy to members of his bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
