MYMENSINGH, Feb 12, 2022 (BSS) - A total of 500 blankets as gifts from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were distributed among the helpless, poor, cold-hit and distressed people of the district town today.

 State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed handed over the blankets among the destitute people as the chief guest at a function held at Zainul Abdin Park in the district town with Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque in the chair.

The warm clothes were distributed under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

 "The government has allocated blankets for the poor cold-hit people in the area to reduce their sufferings," the chief guest said.

 Zilla Parishad Chairman Prof. Yusuf Khan Pathan, General Secretary of district Awami League Advocate Moazzam Hossin Babul, Mymensingh City Awami League president Ehteshamul Alam, Deputy Director (Local Government) Md. Jahangir Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr. Pulak Kanti Chakraborty and Additional Police Superintendent (Administration) Mr. Khandaker Fazle Rabbi, among others, were present on the occasion.
