MEHERPUR, Feb 18, 2022 (BSS) – A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over land dispute at Akubpur village under Gangni upazila here this morning.

The deceased was identified as Sadek Ali, 60.

Locals said Khairul Islam and Bishu Malthi had been in a long-running dispute with Matiar Rahman over ownership of a 16-bigha land at Akubpur village.

Supporters of both groups locked in a clash this morning, leaving  Sadek Ali dead and  10 others injured, said officer-in-charge of Gangni  police station Abdur Razzak.

The injured were rushed to Gangni Upazila Health Complex and Kushtia Medical College Hospital.
